Watch Out Snake on the Road!

Becca: I hope you see one of these snakes. They are awesome. Snakes have to get warm. They slither back to their home. They do not want cars to run over them. This one made it safely across. He climbed up over the curb and into the grass.

Meghan: Yesterday we saw a snake. We wondered what kind it was. I took the time to look up snakes of Colorado and saw one that looked exactly like it. I found out the picture on the Internet was a bull snake. I think it was a bull snake because the top of it was tan with black polka dots. The tail was tan with black stripes. Next time you see a snake somewhere maybe you can do what I did.

Editor's note: Bull snakes are non venomous.   They eat rodents.  Their defense mechanism is to look like a rattlesnake.
